Next Morning

Ratna hugged Manorama whereas Khushi hugged Payal. They were leaving to Lucknow.

Khushi: Happy journey.

Payal: Happy journey to you too.

Khushi: To me? Where I'm going?

Payal: I meant, life journey.

Khushi nodded yes smilingly.

Ratna: I will miss you.

Mano: Me too. The marriage held hurriedly. I would like to perform the remaining rituals in Lucknow.

Ratna: don't mistake me that I'm not coming with you.

Mano: Not at all. You just take care of Arnav and Khushi. I want to see them together happily.

Ratna: Very soon.

They saw Spurthi coming with her bag.

Ratna: return back soon.

Spurthi: Sure.

They left RM as they have planned Payal's "Moo Dikai" in Lucknow tomorrow.

Arnav woke up from his sleep. His head was blasting like hell. He pressed his head. He got surprised, finding himself on the bed.He recalled yesterday's happenings. Though he couldn't remember everything, he remembered that Aman made him drink. He became nervous. Don't know, what he messed with Khushi. There is a lot of problems on his shoulders already. Now, this?

That's when his sight fell on the table. He saw lemonade was being kept there. He wonder. Who would keep it here? He drank it in one go as he badly wanted it. He went to the washroom to take bath.

When he came downstairs, he felt extreme calmness in the house. Where are everyone? That's when he remembered that their plan of going to Lucknow. He took his mobile out and dialed NK.

NK: Hi Naanav... How is your hang-over?

Arnav: Very bad... you guys started?

NK: yup... have to see you soon... with Khushiji...

Arnav: hope so...convey my regards to everyone.

NK: Sure.

He disconnected the call. He saw Khushi arranging breakfast table. He came and stood behind her. Of course, Khushi sensed it.

Arnav: Actually... yesterday night...

Khushi: Have your breakfast.

Arnav looked at her surprisingly because she talked with him even though no one is around them. He sat on the chair. Khushi served him pan-cake and about to go, he held her wrist. Khushi stood without turning.

Arnav: I'm sorry I drank....

Khushi (cutting him): Aman made you drink... I know.

Arnav: Where is Mom and Dad?

Khushi: Amma went to Temple. Will be back soon. Papa went to AR.

Arnav: Are you alright?

Khushi nodded YES.

Arnav: Khushi I'm sorry for whatever happened to us.

Khushi: First eat. Then we will talk. I will bring your orange juice.

Arnav nodded yes. When he finished eating, he got a call from Aman.

Arnav: Yah Aman...

Aman: Where are you?

Arnav: At home.

Aman: I want to meet you.

Arnav: Anything serious?

Aman: Very serious. You have to be careful. My sources are warning us that Shashi Gupta assigned few people to...

Arnav(cutting him): Finish me?

Aman: Not only you (pause) Take care of Khushi.

Arnav (gritting his teeth): I have never seen such a worst father.

Aman: Unfortunately, he is Khushi's father.

Arnav: He can touch her, only after taking my breath away.

Aman: Your life is important to save Khushi.

Arnav: I will take care of her.

Aman: Ask Khushi to not leave home.

Arnav: Yup.

Aman: Come to my office if you have time.

Arnav: Sure.

He disconnected the call and saw Ratna coming from the temple.

Arnav: Mom, take care of Khushi.

Ratna: Of course...

Arnav: It's serious... hope you understand.

He looked nervous. Ratna nodded yes. Khushi came with Arnav's orange juice. She handed it to Arnav. He gulped it in a go. Handing the glass back to her, he left RM as he wanted to meet Aman in person. Khushi looked disappointed. Didn't she say, we will talk later? Then why did he go? What's so urgent?

In the evening

Ratna and Khushi were in the living room chitchatting. Ratna's phone started ringing and it was Arvind. Ratna attended the call.

Ratna: Hello... where are you? Chotte also hasn't came home yet.

Arvind (panicking): Our Chotte's car met with an accident.

Ratna stood from the coach shockingly

Ratna: Whaaaaat? Chotte's car met with an accident?

She shouted totally horrified making Khushi jerk. Khushi eyes teared up immediately. Just yesterday, he asked her in the drunken state that "what will you feel if I die tomorrow?" Today, he had really met with an accident? What happen to him? How is he?

Arvind: I just received message and I'm going to the spot. I will be late.

Ratna (panicking): wait... where did it happen?

Arvind: I too exactly don't know that. I missed to ask that in tension. But I know Chotte is coming home from AR. Ok I will call you later.

He cut the call. Ratna sat on the coach with thud. Khushi clutched her shoulder in nervous.

Khushi (crying like hell): Ma, what happen to Arnav? Is he fine? Ma, say something. You are scaring me... please say something.

Ratna: chotte's car met with an accident. I don't know, what happened to him. How he is...

Khushi: Maa, I want to see him right now. I'm going to the spot.

She stood without caring about anything. Ratna also stood.

Ratna: I'm also coming with you. let's go.

She said in between her falling tears.

Both of them rushed outside. Ratna shouted at diver to start the car. The driver started without delaying seeing their hurry.

Ratna: Go to AR.

She ordered as Arvind said that the accident was held in the route, from AR to RM. Both of them were crying uncontrolled. Ratna started blabbering.

Ratna: Ohh my Chotte.. Hey Devi Maiya... please don't punish me by taking him from me.

Khushi's eyes got rooted on Ratna's face. "Taking him?" what that means? Means, is the accident so harsh? What if anything worse had happen to him? She felt like suddenly her world became dark. She felt BIG BANG in her head.

They saw crowd in the little distance and there was a car got hit on the tree brutally. Its front portion was totally mashed. Khushi clutched Ratna's hand in fear. They got down from the car and spotted Arvind, who was talking with inspector. Ratna and Khushi ran to him to know about Arnav.

Khushi saw someone talking on phone, minute away from the crowed. She wiped her tears to get clear picture. It was blurring due to tears. She saw Arnav coming out of the dark area towards them after cutting the call.

Without any consideration, her legs started running towards him. Arnav was stuck seeing Khushi here. He rooted at the same place looking at her, seeing rushing towards him. Next minute, Khushi hoped on him circling his neck burst out crying.

 For few seconds, Arnav was numb as he couldn't think whatever happening with him was true. Taking few seconds to compose himself, Arnav snaked his hands around her, to get the pleasure of the divine moment which he never expected to happen soon.

 He closed his eyes smilingly. He forgot all the pain which his body got when he rolled on the road. In fact he was ready to get more pain if it will give the "after effect" like this.

Ratna and Arvind were happy seeing them together. After all they wanted their children to be happy. Khushi came to the reality while Arnav was drowning in to the moment more and more. He sensed her loosened up grip around his neck. He opened his eyes and looked at her who was looking down in embarrassment. He freed her from his arm circle. He looked at his parents who looked delighted. He smiled at them. That's when he saw the sight which took his breath away. A masked man was pointing the gun towards Khushi. He twirled in a swift while gently pushing her away. An unkind bullet penetrated his chest, very close to his heart ruthlessly. Khushi was horror stuck and she looked at him who was smiling at her painfully. He cupped her face and slowly closed his eyes while saying "I love you Khushi" dropping himself on her.

City Hospital

Khushi was sitting outside the ICU looking totally stony. Her eyes became waterfalls which were flowing nonstop like ever before. It was been four hours, Arnav was struggling for his life. Though doctors finished the operation they didn't give any appropriate assurance.

Arnav's "I love you Khushi" was echoing in her head repeatedly. Though she heard it many times from him it got special by the situation when he uttered it. He said that, while taking the bullet into his chest, saving her from the death. What if anything happen to him? That cruel thought itself chopped her heart. She rushed to the place where DM's idol was being kept. She kneeled down in front of the almighty with joining hands.

Khushi (in mind): I was born as an orphan even after having some people, called parents. You showed me a beautiful path to travel but I ruined it by my own hands. Please save my Arnav. I want him. Please give me him back.

She felt a soft touch over her shoulder. Ratna was standing there with welled up eyes. Khushi stood and hugged her crying like hell.

Khushi: I'm sorry Ma. Because of me Arnav is in this state. I told you that I'm a bad omen. See, now it came true. I have killed your son.

Ratna(pulling her from the hug): Stop it. I just came here to say that Chotte came out of the danger.

Khushi (smiling in between tears): Sach? (is it true?)

Ratna (nodding yes): Didn't I warn you, don't say like that? You are my daughter. You both are same in my eyes. And he is ought to save you from every danger. Promise me you never address you as bad omen. Or else, I will stop talking to you.

Khushi (holding her ears): I'm sorry ma. I won't repeat it again.

Ratna: your husband is out of danger. I know he won't go easily leaving you because his soul will not rest in peace if he dies without getting your forgiveness. (pause) Spurthi told me, you want AN answer for a question. What's the question? Ask me. I can answer you.

Khushi nodded NO.

Ratna: Trust me Khushi, My Chotte loves you so much. Please give him a chance to prove his love beta.

Khushi hugged her again and cried on her shoulder.

Khushi: I don't want to ask him anything Amma. I just don't want to ask any DAMN question. I want him in my life... with me... forever. That's all what I want. I don't want to think anything more.

Breaking the hug, Ratna kissed her forehead.

Ratna: That's really great. Come, we will see him.

Khushi nodded ok and they left to see him.

Arvind was talking with the doctor who was his friend. He was asking about Arnav's condition.

Doctor: The bullet had hit very close to his heart. Thank god it didn't touch it.

Arvind: Thank you so much for saving my son. (They saw Ratna and Khushi coming.) She is Khushi, Chotte's wife.

Doctor: Don't worry Beta, he will live long.

Khushi: Thank you doctor.

Doctor: I'm your husband's family doctor. I know him since his childhood. He is so strong. He will be alright.

Khushi smiled at him. Arvind hugged her from side.

Khushi: May I see Arnav doctor?

Doctor: why not? And who is having the guts to stop Mrs. Arnav from seeing him? he will kill me if I do so.

Khushi blushed and went inside the ICU.

Arvind: Thank you Tharun for making my Bahu's mood lighter.

Doctor: Hey cool. Go and see your son.

Arvind nodded yes. Doctor left the place. Ratna stopped him gesturing. She wanted to give time to Khushi. When Khushi entered inside, her feet slowed down its speed. Her heart ached seeing him lying on the bed lifelessly, being attached with few tubes. She rushed to him and took his hand in between her palms while her eyes spilled tears. She bent down and kissed his forehead. Arnav shook a bit and she amazed seeing that. She caressed his forehead lovingly.

Can I hug you?

Arnav was shifted to the special ward. Still he was under medication as the pain would be sever when he gets back to consciousness. Khushi was not ready to go home. She sat there adamantly with Ratna. After a long wait, Arnav gathered his consciousness. When he opened his eyes he saw Ratna was sleeping, sitting on the chair, keeping her head on Arnav's bed.

He touched her head slowly and Ratna jerked from her sleep. She smiled seeing him awake.
